Summer is obviously the perfect time for ice cream. Ice cream and sunshine are a perfect pair so this ice cream pom pom card is a great craft for this time of year! Make this easy ice cream pom pom card to give to a loved one or friend.
These ice cream pom pom cards are easily printable and all you need is to add pom poms! It’s definitely easy to make and it’s very sweet. You can write anything on the card or personalizing it according to your occasion and what you want to say.
This easy summer craft is a few scoops away and it requires just a couple of minutes to make.
You'll Need:
A4 size Color Cardstocks
Brown Kraft Paper (*For Ice Cream Cone)
Yarn Pom Pom
A pair of Scissors
Dark Brown Felt Tip Marker
Glue Gun or Heavy duty double-sided tape
Directions:
Choose one of 2 designs, download.
Print the design out in 100% on your desired A4 cardstocks and set aside.
Make 3 little pom poms using yarn.
Make an ice cream cone using piece of kraft paper, cut to 12cm x 12cm.
Draw lines using dark brown color felt tip markers.
Fold to a triangle cone.
Glue a cone and pom poms onto card.
Tips:
You can add anything you want to make the card sparkle like using some glitter or gluing some beads or sequinns.
If you do not have hot glue gun, you may use UHU glue and allow some time for the glue to dry otherwise the pom pom will not stay. You may also use double sided tape but the pom pom will not stay for long unless it's a heavy duty type.
MAKING POM POMS
You may use a pom pom maker that can be found in most craft shop to make the pom poms. Refer to our earlier posts of DIY pom pom bookmarks and pom pom wreath for more guides.
Today we are going to make pom poms by recycling from things we can easily find at home instead. Things that you can use are;
Carton Box
Packaging Box
Shoe Box
Fork
You can simply recycle any carton boxes or any boxes left over and just cut out a small piece. Always extend the pom pom size you desired by adding on 1cm bigger to allow some excess for trimming. For e,g. we are using a 3cm pom pom so the cardboard size will be at least 4cm. (*This is the width of the cardboard and the length doesn't matter.)
Roll the yarn around the piece of board you cut out. You may tape one end onto the board to secure it.
Once you rolled around the board 40~50 times, tied the bundle together at the center.
Remove the board, tie the center together and secure tightly.
Cut all the loops
Trim to round shape.
It's that simple! You do not need fancy or expensive tools at all, just need some yarn and you can make pom pom anywhere and anytime!
MAKING THE CONE
Use a kraft paper or any brown paper.
Use a dark brown color felt tip marker to draw lines on the kraft paper. You may use a ruler for straighter lines.

Cut the kraft paper to size at 12cm x 12cm. You may also cut the kraft paper to size first then draw the lines on.
Flip over the kraft paper with pattern outside. Turn paper diagonally, fold the right in as shown.
Fold the left in as shown
The ice cream cone is done!
