Mummy Hot Dogs

When you think of spookiness and scariness on Halloween night, you’re certain to have an image or two of mummies pop into your head. Why not take those thoughts of mummies and turn them into something adorable and festive to eat instead?

These Mummy Hotdogs are certain to put a smile on your kid’s face and a yummy dinner in their tummy!

Maybe the most iconic Halloween treat of all time, mummy hot dogs have been peeking out of their wrappings on the pages of food magazines everywhere.

Mummy Hot Dogs are the perfect Halloween appetizer and just the finger food you serve before trick-or-treating.

These mummy dogs—a spookier version of pigs-in-a-blanket—are not only delicious but easy enough for kids to help make.

Simply wrapped the hot dogs in tender pastry dough that looks like a spooky mummy! If you are unable to find crescent dough, just use frozen prata dough that is easily available in supermarkets.

Ingredients

  • 1 package crescent rolls or frozen prata

  • Hot dogs

  • Mustard

  • Tomato Sauce

  • Black Sesame

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

  2. Cut the bottom of the hotdogs into half, leaving the other half intact.

  3. Roll dough onto a work surface and cut into pieces/strips.

  4. Roll 1 piece dough strip around each hot dog, creating the look of a mummy.

  5. Bake in the preheated oven until dough is golden brown and flaky, about 10 minutes.

  6. Place dots of black sesames on the top of each for the eyes.

Elevate the festive mood by serving up with a bowl of tomato sauce with spooky spider web mustard for the ultimate Halloween experience!

Directions

  1. Pour tomato sauce on sauce dish.

  2. Squeeze 1 dot of mustard at the center.

  3. Using mustards to make 2 rounds circle after the dot at center.

  4. Using either a cake tester or tooth pick, spread the mustard from center to the edge.

IT'S JUST SPOOKY SIMPLE!
